FACEBOOK YEAR IN REVIEW

Hornet's own Sam Mason brilliantly directed this Facebook's Year in Review 2018, continuing Hornet's longstanding relationship with Facebook. Unique in execution, this Year in Review is a randomized modular timeline serving over 1 billion users their content in 5 or 7 blocks of the total 13 “worlds” we were tasked to create.

Creatively, we were challenged to build these worlds to speak to the emotional resonance and universality of “family”, “friendship” and “travel”, amongst others. Technically, given the random and modular nature of these videos for Facebook’s 1 billion plus users, we had to create a system where they could be randomized. The end result represents the combined efforts of our extremely talented producers, artists and engineers both at Hornet and at Facebook - an intrinsically collaborative effort that we are incredibly proud of.
