Too technical for the arts, too creative for the sciences; Chris Smith, Jesse Casey, and Michelle Higa knew they had to work together as soon as they met at Brown University. They funneled their collective love of music, computer science and semiotics into the world of animation, and Mixtape Club was born.

J Dilla's 'Nothing like This' tells the epic tale of a creature in search of love in a fantastical but not unfamiliar landscape. When a budding romance ends in tragedy, we're introduced to a world of balding sharks, crusty fisherman and giant, vengeful ice cream cones, and ultimately we learn that when one door closes, another opens. |
Mixtape Club created background visuals for Bette Midler's new Las Vegas show, 'The Showgirl Must Go On'. Debuting in February 2008, the show will run for two years at The Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace. Displayed on a 110' x 34' LCD screen, the visuals integrate a range of styles from classic Hollywood glamour to Japanese woodblock prints. |
